Top 10 Signs that Renovations Aren't Complete

10. Your lunch sack is a plastic bag from Home Depot
9. You worry about falling through the kitchen ceiling every morning when going into the tub
8. Contractors come to your house more often than your friends
7. You go to the dog park and someone points out that the dog has paint on him
6. Plastic drop cloths are considered a home decor
5. Sundays are spent mudding & taping instead of watching football.
4. The upstairs foyer table is actually a piece of OSB. With a mitre saw on it.
3. Fixing the main roof truss that is 100% cut through is on the same 'to do list' along with purchasing 1/2" screws for the closet.
2. You get certified letters for the weeds & junk in your back yard.
1. Two words - drywall boogers

This made me laugh out loud. We just finished our year-long home reno and I can totally relate. I'm wanting to do something similar on our blog, and I will certainly credit you for the inspiration.

A couple more:

Contractor walks in your house and first thing he says is "Wow."

You keep inviting people to the housewarming party that you are already planning. . . in 2013.

You contemplate paint colors, shower curtains, decorate knick knacks in rooms that don't even have drywall yet.

Your dog grows 10 lbs / month - directly proportional to the pounds of drywall dust accumulating in the bedroom.

I feel your pain 100%, except this week my boogers are plywood dust, not drywall.

Would probably be hysterical if it all weren´t true!

This list (both of them) are so true it made me laugh out loud in the office just now. I feel your pain!

That list is hysterical! And sadly, I totally know what you mean in #1

P.S. Marble hex tile.

Drywall boogers ... must be the same as my saying that when they clean the vents in our office they leave behind ceiling boogers all over our desks. :)

This couldn't relate any better than right now in our lives. Thanks for the laugh. :)
